This site collects as little as it can. Here is all of it.

The “Stay connected” form

The only thing this site asks you for is an email address, in the signup form on the home page and in the footer.

• What we collect: the email address you enter, the page of this site you submitted the form from, your browser’s user agent (the line your browser sends to say which browser and system it is), and the time.
• Why: to email you when Typetin opens to foundries, and to send an occasional note about what has been built. The page, user agent and time help us spot automated signups and see which page people sign up from.
• Where it’s kept: in a Postgres database hosted by Neon, in a United States region.
• Who can see it: the Typetin team. We don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone else. Neon stores it for us as our database host.
• How long: until you ask us to remove it, or until we retire the list, whichever comes first.
• Being removed or unsubscribing: email hello@overpunch.ca from the address you signed up with and we’ll delete it.

If you enter an address that is already saved, the form answers exactly as it does for a new one, so nobody can use it to find out who has signed up.

Abuse protection

To stop automated signups, the form limits how often one connection can submit. It keeps a one-way hash of your IP address in memory for ten minutes; the address itself is not stored with your signup.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and the signup form adds none. The fonts are served from this site, not a third party.

Hosting

Like any website, the servers that host this site keep short-lived request logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
